Stay Safe on Adzy’s Marketplace

Adzy’s Marketplace connects buyers and sellers through classified adverts. Adzy’s does not handle the purchase payment or complete the transaction for you, so both parties should make sensible checks before exchanging money or goods.

Meet safely

• Meet in a busy, well-lit public place wherever practical.
• Prefer daylight hours and consider taking another person with you.
• Tell someone where you are going and who you are meeting.
• Do not invite strangers into your home unless there is a genuine reason and you are comfortable doing so.

Inspect before paying

• Check the actual tool against the photographs and description.
• Check the make, model, serial number and identifying labels where available.
• Look for removed, altered or damaged serial-number plates.
• Inspect plugs, cables, guards, casings, batteries and chargers for obvious damage.
• Ask to see the tool operate where it is safe and practical.
• Ask about ownership and purchase history if anything is unclear.

Payment safety

• Do not send money because someone claims Adzy’s is holding or protecting the payment. We do not provide marketplace escrow or buyer-payment services.
• Do not follow unexpected payment links sent by another user.
• Never share passwords, verification codes or unnecessary banking details.
• Be particularly cautious about deposits for items you have not inspected.
• Sellers should confirm that funds have genuinely cleared before handing over an item.

Watch for warning signs

Walk away if a deal feels wrong. Warning signs can include an unusually low price, pressure to pay immediately, refusal to allow inspection, inconsistent photographs or descriptions, removed identifying marks, requests for unusual payment methods or a seller who will not answer reasonable questions.

Suspected stolen or prohibited goods

Do not buy an item if you reasonably suspect it is stolen, counterfeit or unlawfully held. Use the Report Listing function and select the most appropriate reason. Adzy’s may hide or remove listings while a report is reviewed and may preserve relevant records for fraud prevention or lawful requests.

What our checks mean

A listing may be manually reviewed and certain seller or serial-number information may be recorded. These checks are safety measures, not a guarantee that the seller, item or transaction is genuine, safe or suitable.

Remember: inspect first, pay carefully, keep records and do not proceed if something does not add up.
